Discount Calculator

Your inputs

Savings = price × discount / 100. A second discount applies to the already-discounted price — stacked discounts multiply, they do not add — and tax is charged after the discounts.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter Original price, Discount (%), Second discount % (optional), Sales tax % after discounts (optional), Final price you paid (optional).

A worked example

A price of 100 with a 20% discount gives savings of 20 and a final price of 80, before any tax. Stacking a second discount of 10% takes it to 72 — a combined 28% off, not 30% — and typing in the price you actually paid works the effective discount back out in reverse.

Frequently asked questions

How should I interpret the illustration?

It is a visual aid, not a replacement for the numeric output. Some charts compare values with different units, and those magnitudes are not directly comparable.

Can I use the result without checking the inputs?

Check units, signs, assumptions and rounding first. The tool cannot know whether the values you enter describe the real situation correctly.
