Signature Maker

Draw your signature with mouse, touch or pen — or type your name and pick a handwriting style. Download a clean transparent PNG (trimmed to the ink, ready to drop into documents) or an SVG. Everything happens in your browser: your signature is never uploaded or stored. Need it on a PDF? Stamp it with Sign PDF afterwards.

Bundled styles load a real handwriting font into your browser — only the one you pick — so the preview is exactly what your download will look like. System styles use fonts already on your device. The typed name sits on the pad as a base layer — draw over it any time to add your own flourish. Drag the typed name anywhere on the pad to move it out of your drawing’s way, and scale it with Text size. PNG downloads include everything on the pad; SVG covers the drawn strokes only.

Transparent is right for documents and forms. White suits email footers and images.

Ballpoint is crisp and even. Fountain swells as your stroke slows, Brush is bold and expressive, Marker lays down thick flat strokes. Switching keeps what you have drawn.

Signature Maker — Draw or Type Your Signature, Download PNG or SVG guide

Create a clean digital signature in your browser: draw it with your mouse, finger or pen, or type your name and choose a handwriting style. Download a transparent PNG trimmed to the ink — ready for documents, forms and email — or a vector SVG of your drawn signature. Free, private and never uploaded.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose Draw it and sign in the box with your mouse, touch or stylus — the dashed line is your baseline. Pick a pen colour (black and blue ink are the document standards) and adjust the thickness until it feels like your pen.
  2. Prefer typing? Switch to Type it, enter your name and pick a handwriting style. The styles use fonts already installed on your device, so what you see is exactly what downloads.
  3. Download the PNG (transparent, automatically trimmed to your signature with a small margin) or, for a drawn signature, the SVG. Undo removes the last stroke if one went wrong, and Clear starts again.

A worked example

Signing a tenancy agreement PDF: draw your signature once here, download the transparent PNG, then stamp it onto the signature line with the Sign PDF tool — the transparent background lets the document show through exactly like ink on paper.

How it works

Drawn strokes are captured as smooth vector paths by the signature pad and rendered to the canvas at your screen’s full pixel resolution, so ink lands exactly where your pointer does at any window size. PNG export scans the canvas for ink, crops away the empty space and adds a small even margin, so the file drops neatly into a document without manual cropping. SVG export keeps the original vector paths, so it scales to any size with no loss of quality. Typed signatures are rendered from your device’s own fonts directly onto the same canvas.

Frequently asked questions

Is my signature uploaded or stored anywhere?

No. Drawing, typing and export all happen in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is kept after you close the page — your signature exists only in the files you download.

Transparent or white background — which should I pick?

Transparent for documents, PDFs and forms: the page shows through around the ink, exactly like signing paper. White suits email footers, profile images and anywhere the signature will sit on a photo or coloured background.

Why does the typed signature look different on another computer?

Typed styles use fonts installed on the device doing the rendering. The PNG you download here is a fixed picture, though — it will look identical everywhere you use it.

Can I sign a PDF with this?

Yes — download the transparent PNG, then use our Sign PDF tool to place it on the signature line and save the signed PDF.

Is a signature image legally binding?

In many places a handwritten signature image on a document is accepted as signing, but some contracts and official processes require a certified digital signature instead. If the stakes are high, check what the other party requires.
