Meme Generator — Viral Templates, Unlimited Text, Stickers & Layers, No Watermark guide

Make memes in your browser: pick from 100+ viral templates with the text boxes already in the right places, or open the full studio for unlimited text, stickers, layers, filters and multi-panel memes — plus animated GIF and video memes from your own clips. No signup, no watermark, nothing uploaded.

How to use this tool

  1. Pick a template from the grid — the Top 100 viral formats are searchable, and the 50 most iconic are bundled with the page so they work even offline. Favourite the ones you reuse, or upload any image of your own as a template.
  2. Type your text in the fields. The boxes are placed where that meme format actually needs them — beside Drake, across the Expanding Brain tiers, under the Two Buttons — and the type auto-fits as you write. Double-click any text on the canvas to edit it in place.
  3. For quick memes, hit Download. For more, switch to Studio mode: add unlimited text boxes, stickers, emoji, extra images, shapes and freehand drawing, reorder everything in the layers panel, and style each text with fonts, outline, shadow and background boxes.
  4. Try the canvas tools: social size presets (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9), caption bars, filters — and the Deep Fry button for the classic over-saturated crunchy look.
  5. Download as PNG, JPG or WebP at 1×, 2× or original resolution, copy it straight to the clipboard, or save it to My memes on this device. There is never a watermark.
  6. For animated memes, open the Animated panel: upload an animated GIF and your captions are stamped onto every frame, or upload a short video, trim it, place captions over the frame on the canvas, and export an MP4 with the captions burned in — or a looping GIF.

A worked example

A team lead wants a Drake meme for the sprint chat: Drake rejecting "reply-all to the whole company", approving "a two-line message in the channel". She picks Drake Hotline Bling, types both lines into the two pre-placed boxes on the right of the panels, downloads the PNG and drops it in the chat — under a minute, no account, no watermark in the corner.

How it works

The editor is a canvas studio that runs entirely in your browser. Template images are drawn onto the canvas together with your text, sticker and shape layers; styling (the classic white Anton type with a black outline, auto-fit, shadows) is applied per text box, and the download simply flattens the canvas to an image file at the scale you chose. Your photos and drafts stay on your device — drafts and saved memes live in your browser storage, never on our server.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a watermark?

No — never. What you make downloads clean, at every size and format. That is the point of the tool.

Where do the templates come from?

The live list is the public Top 100 meme-template catalogue (the same ranking Imgflip publishes), refreshed in your browser, and the 50 most iconic templates are bundled with the page itself so the classics keep working offline. You can also upload any image or paste an image URL to use as a template.

Can I use my own photo as a meme?

Yes — upload it as a template, or add it on top of a meme as an overlay image. You can also paste an image straight from the clipboard with Ctrl+V.

Can I make GIF or video memes?

Yes — open the Animated panel. Upload an animated GIF and it plays on the canvas; add text and stickers as usual and Export stamps them onto every frame of a looping GIF (or save the first frame as a PNG). For video, upload an MP4, WebM or MOV clip, trim it to the moment (up to 60 seconds), place captions over the frame in the studio, and export an MP4 with the captions burned in or a GIF of the clip. Animated templates are not bundled — famous GIF templates are other people's clips — so the Animated panel works with GIFs and videos you bring yourself.

Is anything uploaded or saved on your server?

No. Editing, drafts, favourites and your saved memes all live in your own browser. Closing the browser storage (clearing site data) removes them, so download anything you want to keep.
