Term vs Whole Life Insurance: Which Is Right for You?
Term life is usually right: it covers the years your family depends on your income at a fraction of the price — whole life typically costs 5 to 15 times more for the same cover. A healthy 30-year-old pays about $249 a year for a $500,000 20-year term policy versus about $5,280 a year for whole life. Whole life earns its premium only when the need is permanent.
